The pride felt towards Southern culture by Southerners is undeniably potent. The hospitality, the accents, the music, and maybe most of all, the food, are loved and defended by South Georgia natives. From your uncle manning the grill at family cookouts to your favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant, true Southerners love their food.
Tifton restaurants have constantly been representing well in the local community, and now that fact is being recognized at the state and national level. Wisham Jellies recently was victorious at the University of Georgia’s 10th annual Flavor of Georgia Contest, but they are not the only restaurant gaining attention in the city.
Tifton’s ‘41 & Main’ was granted the opportunity to be a part of the Destination America Network. The Tifton restaurant will be featured on several shows of BBQ Rules with Pitmaster Myron Mixon that is set to start for its seventh season. 41 & Main’s authentic flavor and feel garnered the attention of the food-focused networks, giving Tifton another chance to further make its mark on the map.
41 & Main Woodfired Oven landed in Tifton at the beginning of this year, ready to make an impact. The restaurant is open every day throughout the week and normal operation hours from Sunday-Wednesday are 11:00 am to 11:00 pm. Hours for Thursday-Saturday are from 11:00 am to 2:00 am. The restaurant has more of a dine-in atmosphere and is located in the middle of the downtown Tifton. The restaurant specializes in Barbeque but has a variety of food choices to suit their customers’ appetites.
While the one-two punch of their slow smoker and Italian wood-fired oven is enough to draw the crowds on their own, 41 & Main also has a twenty-four foot salad bar, a full service bar with numerous televisions, golf carts that provide transportation for parking, and even an area for entertainers to perform.
